Dr. Monterroso grew up in Northern California, and comes from a family of dental professionals. Early on she worked as a dental assistant, in addition to various other dental office positions allowing her to appreciate the value that each team member brings to a smooth running practice. In 2011, she graduated from Pacific Union college in Angwin, CA, with a BS in Biology with cum laude honors. A few years later she got her DDS from the Loma Linda School of Dentistry, with an award in esthetic dentistry.

She and her husband, Mark, met in college as lab partners – you could say they had chemistry ;). Mark is an ER physician and works in several different hospitals here in the valley and completed a residency at Kaweah. The two lovebirds have been married for 6 years and have a 9-month-old named Miles and two rescue dogs. The dogs are cute but likely have personality disorders which makes us love them even more. 

When not helping our patients smile the brightest, Dr. Monterroso can be found hiking some seriously tall peaks! She has completed Banff, Canada, and even hiked to the base camp of Mount Everest in Nepal! In addition to her hiking around the globe, she has also done several international trips for volunteer dentistry for people who are unable to receive regular dental care. She has done dentistry for people in countries such as Honduras, Armenia, Peru, and Africa, and hopes to do more in the future.
