A beautiful, youthful appearance can boost your confidence. Achieve the white, dazzling smile you’ve always dreamed of with the dental team at Dr. Hardt’s office.

Want to keep those teeth a beautiful, pure white color? Here are some things to keep in mind:

Keep them clean.

Obviously, this is going to be the first step. We all have heard to brush our teeth twice a day, but it really can’t be overstated. Make sure that you’re brushing for at least 2 minutes!

When left unchecked, bacteria will continue to grow. Plaque and tartar will then build up from the unclean teeth, making it easier for stains to stick to them. Food and drink can also discolor your teeth, which we’ll expand upon later. If we’re not careful our pearly whites can become murky yellows.

Want to keep your teeth clean and sparkling? Come in for a cleaning and we’ll get rid of any plaque or tartar buildup. The Dr. Hardt family provides excellent preventive dentistry, oral health care that you deserve. Your teeth will thank you when you show off that beautiful smile!

Avoid these consumables.

Below is a list of items to watch out for. Ideally, we should moderate intake of these foods and beverages:

  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Red wine
  • Curry
  • Beets
  • Cigarettes

We know that it’s hard to completely cut out certain consumables, so moderation is the answer. We suggest rinsing your mouth out with water after consuming any of these. If you’re a smoker, consider switching to vaping.

Treat yourself with home whitening.

These days, we have numerous options for doing the whitening ourselves! As always, be sure to discuss your options with Dr. Hardt, as some store-bought products can be harsh and abrasive.

Whitening Toothpaste

Brushing your teeth with a whitening toothpaste is an easy way to maintain white teeth. Any staining from foods mentioned above should be kept at bay, and your mouth will feel extra fresh! The whitening solution in most toothpastes will be milder than other options. However, you may still experience some sensitivity after brushing.

Whitening Strips

If you’d like to go the extra step, the other option is to use tooth whitening strips. They’re quite straightforward: you place two strips along your teeth, leave them for a while, and then remove. This requires a commitment to apply your whitening strips every day for a while.

Undergo professional teeth whitening.

So, you’ve done all the above, and your teeth are still not the shade you like? You may want to try whitening with Dr. Hardt’s team of dental experts. Professional tooth whitening is the best way to go to get that dazzling bright smile as quickly as possible. You’ll be amazed with the results!

Have dental sealants placed.

So, you’ve taken all steps to keep your teeth white and youthful. How can you keep up that shine? Isn’t brushing and flossing enough?

Well, yes and no. There is more we can do to protect your teeth! This is where dental sealants come in. Sealants are a great way to ensure your teeth have maximum protection.

The process is quick and easy. First, an acidic gel is applied to your teeth to get them clean and bondable. Then, you rinse away the gel and we apply the sealant, hardening it with a special light. Your teeth are left with a protective coating, a shiny new set of armor!

Let’s get dazzling!
